Frequently Asked Questions
ClientAppSettings.json is a configuration file that Roblox reads on startup. It allows you to override default rendering settings, adjust graphics quality, set FPS limits, and fine-tune performance. The file goes in the ClientSettings folder inside your Roblox version directory.
No. ClientAppSettings.json uses Roblox's own built-in FFlag (Fast Flag) system. These are the same settings Roblox engineers use internally. Modifying these flags is not against Roblox Terms of Service and will not result in a ban. However, using third-party exploits or injectors is a different matter entirely.
Simply delete the ClientAppSettings.json file (or the entire ClientSettings folder) from your Roblox version directory, then restart Roblox. It will revert to all default settings. You can also reinstall Roblox to get a completely fresh configuration.
Several factors can affect FPS beyond these settings: (1) Make sure you placed the file in the correct version folder — Roblox updates frequently and creates new version folders. (2) Close background applications consuming CPU/RAM. (3) Update your GPU drivers. (4) Some games have their own performance overhead that can't be fixed with client settings. (5) Try lowering in-game graphics quality to level 1-3.
Yes! Bloxstrap has its own Fast Flag editor built in. You can either import these settings through Bloxstrap's interface, or manually place the ClientAppSettings.json file. If using Bloxstrap, go to Fast Flags tab and import the JSON. Bloxstrap will manage the file placement automatically.
